ReferCodes (“ReferCodes”, “we”, “our” and/or “us”), a service of Hangout Labs, LLC (“Hangout Labs”), values the privacy of individuals who use our services (the “Services”) which include our websites (the “Websites”), https://refer.codes and https://www.refercodes.com, and mobile apps (the “Apps”).

Our privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how we collect, use, and safeguard the information you (“Users”) provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Services. Beyond the Privacy Policy, your use of ReferCodes is also subject to our Terms of Service.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

Registration Information. When you sign up for a ReferCodes account we will get basic information from your Facebook profile including your name, email address, gender, locale, timezone, profile photo, the list of Facebook friends who also have signed up for ReferCodes, and a unique identifier for your Facebook account. You must also choose a username (which may be your real name or a pseudonym) and can provide another email address in addition to the one provided by Facebook.

Referral Codes and/or Referral Links. Adding referral codes and/or referral links is optional. When you add any referral codes and/or referral links they are associated to your ReferCodes account.

Communications. You will provide certain personal data if you contact us directly. For example, when you contact us by email, social media, mail or other offline means, or any forms on the Services we could receive your name, email address, phone number, the contents of a message or attachments you send to us, and/or any other information you choose to provide.

Information We Collect When You Use Our Services

There is certain information that we collect automatically as the result of your use of the Services. This information includes but is not limited to the following.

Device Information. We collect information from Users’ devices including IP address (this can sometimes be used to derive the country or city from which you are accessing the Services), the site that you visited immediately prior to visiting the Websites, your web browser type and version, operating system, and language.

Usage Information. We collect information when you take actions including viewing pages and other content, adding referral codes and/or referral links, typing or pasting in form fields including search terms, clicking on links, copying referral codes, interacting with email messages including whether you opened or clicked on the email message, updating information on Facebook you’ve provided to us as enumerated in the Registration Information section above, as well as the date, time, frequency, and duration of your interactions with the Services.

Information from Cookies and Similar Technologies. We collect information through the use of “cookies”, tracking pixels, and similar technologies to understand how you navigate through and interact with the Services. Cookies are small text files that web servers place on your device; they are designed to store basic information and to help websites and apps recognize your browser. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. Third Party Services. If you choose to register for ReferCodes or otherwise link your ReferCodes account with a third party’s service (such as Facebook), we may receive the same type of information we collect from you (described above) directly from those services.

Third Party Partners. We may receive additional information about you, such as demographic data or fraud detection information, from third party partners and combine it with other information that we have about you.

How We Use and Share Information

We use the information we collect to provide and support our Services and make them better for all our users. Here’s how:

Provide, Improve, and Develop Services

Using the information we collect, we are able to deliver the Services, improve them, and research and develop new ones. For example, we use the information to provide you with the Services you request, understand how you and other users interact with the Services, provide customer support, troubleshoot and protect against errors, perform data analysis and testing, conduct research and surveys, and develop new features and Services.

We may also use your information to help you find and connect with other users and to allow other users to find and connect with you on the Services. For example, when you create an account we get a list of your friends and use that information to help you find your friends’ profiles, codes, and links and to help those friends find your profile, codes, and links.

When you provide referral codes or links, we may make those codes or links publicly available along with your profile information to help others find them and understand the Service.

Communicate with You

We use your information to send you Service notifications and inform you of new features or products we think you would be interested in. You can control marketing communications and most Service notifications by using your notification preferences in account settings or via the 'Unsubscribe' link in an email. We also use your information to respond to you when you contact us.

Promote Safety and Security

We use the information we collect to promote the safety and security of the Services, our users, and other parties. For example, we may use the information to authenticate users, protect against fraud and abuse, respond to a legal request or claim, conduct audits, and enforce our terms and policies.

Your Choices

If would like to update any information on your ReferCodes account or terminate your ReferCodes account and delete your data, you can do so from the Account Settings page or by contacting us at [email protected] with your request.

If you choose to terminate your account, we will deactivate it for you but may retain information from your account for a certain period of time and disclose it in a manner consistent with our practices under this Privacy Policy.

We also may retain information from your account to troubleshoot problems, analyze usage of the Services, assist with any investigations, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, or take other actions as required or permitted by law.

As part of the Service, we may provide links to other websites or applications. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us through our Services. Therefore, this Privacy Policy does not apply to your use of a third party website accessed by following a link on the Services.

To the extent that you access or use the Service through or on another website or application, then the privacy policy of that other website or application will apply to your access or use of that site or application. We encourage our users to read the privacy statements of other websites before proceeding to use them.

Other

Data Security. We are committed to protecting the data of our Users. Even though we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no security measures can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your data.

Children’s Privacy. ReferCodes is not directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we find out that a child under 13 has given us personal information, we will take steps to delete that information. Changes to Our Privacy Policy. We may make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account or by placing a prominent notice on our site. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy periodically to stay up-to-date about our privacy practices. As long as you use the Services, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy and any updates we make to it.
